SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced the appointment
of Jon Franke, Vice President, Generation Technical Services and the
promotion of Scott Sanford to Vice President, Customer Operations.
Franke will report to Ed Halpin, Senior Vice President, Generation and
Chief Nuclear Officer. Sanford, who has been serving as Senior Director,
Customer Service Operations and Support, will report to Laurie Giammona,
Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. Franke and Sanford
were elected as officers by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company Board
of Directors.

Williams is President, Electric. She will assume a new role as CEO and
President of PG&E Corporation on March 1.
In his new position at PG&E, effective January 23, 2017, Franke will be
responsible for leading functions in PG&E’s Generation line of business
related to technical, strategic and project support.
Franke brings to PG&E more than 30 years of nuclear industry experience,
obtained while working in positions of increasing levels of
responsibility in the U.S. Navy, and at Carolina Power and Light,
Progress Energy, Duke Energy, PPL Corporation and Talen Energy. As an
officer in the U.S. Navy, Franke served in several nuclear power and
fleet assignments, and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
He served in several leadership positions at Brunswick Nuclear Plant
before becoming the plant general manager, and later vice president, at
Crystal River Nuclear Plant. He most recently served as vice president
of Susquehanna Nuclear Plant where he was responsible for all aspects of
safe, reliable and efficient nuclear plant operation, design and
maintenance.
Franke is a 1985 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a bachelor
of science in mechanical engineering. He also holds a master of science
in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, and a master
of business administration from the University of North Carolina at
Wilmington.
Sanford joined PG&E in 2012 and has more than two decades of experience
with increasing levels of responsibility in the customer service sector
with companies including Comcast and AT&T Wireless (and several
predecessor companies). For multiple companies, Sanford has led large
scale workforces across multiple locations and states while delivering
increased customer satisfaction. He replaces Al Torres who is retiring
with more than 30 years of service in PG&E’s Electric Operations and
Customer Care organizations.
As Vice President, Customer Operations, Sanford will lead the
organization that spans the entire “meter to cash” process with
responsibilities including meter testing, installation, and maintenance;
customer billing, payment processing, credit and collections; and
oversight of the customer privacy policy.
Sanford holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Dakota
and master of business administration from Regis University.
