PG&E Corporation Elects Lewis Chew To Board Of Directors

San Francisco) – PG&E Corporation (NYSE:PCG) today announced the election of Lewis Chew to its Board of Directors, as well as the Board of its subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Chew, 46, is Senior Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer of National Semiconductor Corporation in Santa Clara, California.

Chew has 25 years of experience and expertise in finance, accounting, and auditing. In his current role, which he assumed in 2001, Chew’s responsibilities include leading and managing all of National Semiconductor’s financial, information technology, and investor relations operations around the globe.

“Lewis joins our board with an outstanding track record in building and leading the worldwide finance operation that has been so vital to National Semiconductor’s success,” said Peter A. Darbee, PG&E Corporation Chairman, CEO and President. “With his strong financial and hightech background, he brings a valuable perspective to our Boards at a time when PG&E is pursuing vital and extensive capital investments on behalf of customers and shareholders. We look forward to his contributions.”

Chew joined National Semiconductor in 1997 as Director of Internal Audit and was named Vice President and Controller in 1998. Prior to joining the company, he was a partner and Certified Public Accountant with KPMG, LLP, in San Jose, California. He joined KPMG in 1984 as a staff accountant and steadily assumed increasing responsibilities over the course of his career there, servicing clients in the high-tech and financial industries.

In December 2002, Treasury and Risk Management magazine named Chew as one of its top "40 Under the Age of 40" finance executives in the nation. He has also been recognized on multiple occasions as one of America's Best CFOs by Institutional Investor magazine in its annual ranking of CFOs in America.

A California native, Chew is a 1984 graduate of Santa Clara University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
