PG&E NAMED TO DOW JONES SUSTAINABILITY NORTH AMERICA INDEX

Corporation’s Commitment to Corporate Responsibility and Industry-Leading Environmental Programs Earn Position on Prestigious List

(San Francisco, CA) –PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG) has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI North America), which lists companies that lead their industries in managing economic, environmental and social issues. PG&E is one of only 10 U.S. utilities to be selected for the Index.

“We are honored to be selected for this competitive and prestigious list," said Peter Darbee, Chairman, CEO and President of PG&E Corporation. "Never before has there been a clearer line of sight between corporate social responsibility and creating lasting value for stakeholders. Leading companies today have to focus as much or more on how they arrive at their bottom line as they do on the bottom line itself. We’re working daily to drive this mindset throughout PG&E’s business.”

Earning a spot on the DJSI reflects PG&E’s long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility, including environmental performance, employee health and safety, corporate governance, corporate philanthropy and community involvement.

PG&E is committed to addressing the challenges associated with climate change, including delivering some of the nation’s cleanest electric power, advocating for regulation of greenhouse gases, and aggressively investing in new sources of renewable energy. PG&E is also empowering its customers to voluntarily offset their carbon footprint from their energy use through the ClimateSmart™ program.

PG&E is also a national leader in helping its customers use energy efficiency as a cost-effective way of reducing their energy bills and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Over the past three decades, PG&E’s residential and commercial energy efficiency programs have helped our customers save more than $22 billion in energy costs, while preventing more than 135 million tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index tracks the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. In selecting the top performers in each business sector, DJSI reviewed companies' performance on corporate governance, risk management, climate change mitigation, supply chain standards and labor practices.

In addition to being selected for the DJSI, PG&E recently earned the highest (AAA) rating from Innovest Strategic Value Advisors on its “Intangible Value Assessment” for the company’s performance on social, environmental, and strategic governance issues relative to sector peers. Earlier this year, PG&E Corporation also earned a #10 ranking on Corporate Responsibility Officer magazine’s annual ranking of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens.
