New Heads of Public Affairs and Corporate Relations Also
Named
(San Francisco) – The board of directors of
PG&E Corporation today elected Thomas B. King as
president of PG&E Corporation, effective July 1,
2007. King is currently chief executive officer of
the Corporation’s utility unit, Pacific Gas and
Electric Company. He will assume the role of president
from Peter A. Darbee, who will continue to lead the
Corporation as chief executive officer and the chairman
of the boards of directors.
In his new role, King will be responsible for overseeing
the Corporation’s existing utility business as
well as strategic growth opportunities. He will continue
to report to Darbee.
Succeeding King as chief executive officer of Pacific
Gas and Electric Company will be William T. Morrow,
who is currently the utility’s president and
chief operating officer. Morrow will lead and manage
all of the utility’s operations, including electric
generation, which King currently oversees. Morrow will
continue to report to King.
“These changes are designed to optimize our
leadership structure as we prepare to take the company
to the next level in pursuit of our vision to be the
nation’s leading utility,” said Darbee. “It
reflects PG&E’s commitment to deploying our
best talent where it can have the greatest impact for
shareholders and customers.”
The board of directors also announced additional officer
elections, effective March 1, 2007.
Nancy E. McFadden was named senior vice president,
public affairs for PG&E Corporation. McFadden has
been Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s vice
president of governmental relations since September
2005. In her new role, she will oversee all federal
and state governmental relations and community relations
for the company. McFadden will report to Peter Darbee.
Greg S. Pruett was named vice president, corporate
relations for PG&E Corporation. Pruett will have
primary responsibility for leading and managing communications
and activities relating to the company’s identity.
He comes to PG&E from the American Gas Association
in Washington, D.C., where he is currently vice president
of communications and marketing. Pruett has nearly
27 years of experience and expertise in communications
and public affairs, including senior leadership positions
at Bechtel and PG&E. He will report to Peter Darbee.
