(San Francisco) - PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG)
has elected Russell M. Jackson, 47, as Vice President,
Human Resources, effective June 1, 2004. Jackson has
been Vice President, Human Resources, for PG&E Corporation's
core business, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, since
1999. Jackson retains his role as an officer of Pacific
Gas and Electric Company in addition to his new post
at the Corporation. He will oversee Human Resources
for both the holding company and the utility, which
together employ more than 20,000 people.
"With nearly 25 years as a member of the team at Pacific
Gas and Electric Company, including leading the utility's
Human Resources function, Russ Jackson brings a wealth
of experience to his new post at PG&E Corporation,"
said Robert D. Glynn, Jr., Chairman, CEO and President
of PG&E Corporation. "We welcome him in this expanded
role."
Jackson joined Pacific Gas and Electric Company as
a member of the Customer Services organization in 1980.
Over the next 17 years, he held various positions of
steadily increasing responsibility in the Customer Services,
Marketing and General Management areas. He became Assistant
to the President and CEO in 1997. In 1998, he became
Vice President, Customer Service.
Jackson is a graduate of San Jose State University,
where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration.
He also earned an MBA in business management from St.
Mary's College, and a master's degree in human resources
and organizational development from University of San
Francisco. Additionally, Jackson holds a certificate
in human resource management from University of California,
Berkeley.
