Pruett, Lawicki and Williams Named Senior Vice Presidents,
Hayes and Johnson Appointed Vice Presidents, Butler Assumes
New Post
(San Francisco) – PG&E Corporation today
announced that its board of directors has elected Greg
S. Pruett to senior vice president, Corporate Relations.
In addition, the board of directors of PG&E Corporation’s
utility unit, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, has
elected Patricia M. Lawicki as senior vice president
and chief information officer for the utility; Geisha
J. Williams as senior vice president, Energy Delivery;
William D. Hayes as vice president, Maintenance and
Construction; and Mark S. Johnson, vice president, Electric
Operations and Engineering.

that we have incredible talent within our current team
and that we also can enhance our management team from
the outside as well,” said Peter A. Darbee, PG&E
Corporation Chairman, CEO and President. “Each
of these leaders, with their vast breadth of experience,
will continue to help move PG&E to the next level
as we pursue becoming the leading utility in the nation.”
Pruett is being promoted from his current role as vice
president, Corporate Relations, which he assumed in
March. He is responsible for all branding and advertising
efforts for both the Corporation and the utility, as
well as leading and managing all communications activities
for the entire enterprise. He previously worked as the
vice president of communications and marketing for the
American Gas Association. Pruett has 27 years of experience
and expertise in communications and public affairs,
including senior leadership positions at Bechtel and
PG&E. He has a B.A. in journalism from California
State University Fresno. He reports to Peter Darbee.
Lawicki joined Pacific Gas and Electric Company as
vice president and chief information officer in January
2005. In her new role she will continue to lead the
Information Technology group, including the support
of current mission-critical systems and the development
of the technology strategy and architecture for the
utility’s Business Transformation initiatives.
Previously, Lawicki held a number of leadership positions
at NiSource, Inc., an electric and gas utility holding
company headquartered in Indiana. She has a bachelor’s
degree in technology management from Purdue University,
as well as a master’s degree and an MBA from Indiana
University. She reports to Pacific Gas and Electric
Company President and CEO Bill Morrow.
Williams comes to Pacific Gas and Electric Company from
Florida Power and Light Company where her career spanned
nearly 25 years. She most recently served as vice president,
Power Systems, Distribution, responsible for asset management
and planning, engineering, construction, maintenance
and restoration for the entire electric distribution
infrastructure serving 4.4 million customers. Williams
previously held a variety of positions in customer service,
marketing and distribution operations. She has a bachelor’s
degree in industrial engineering from the University
of Miami and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
Williams reports to Morrow and she succeeds Jeffrey
T. Butler, who will become senior vice president of
transformation initiatives.
In addition to leading the Energy Delivery organization,
Butler has been integral in helping oversee the utility’s
large-scale effort to transform the way it does business.
In his new position, he will be responsible for providing
strategic guidance and counsel to Morrow as the company
takes its transformation efforts beyond this year. Butler
has been with the utility since 1979, holding a variety
of engineering positions in the hydroelectric business
before moving on to multiple management roles in generation,
electric transmission and distribution. He also served
as vice president, Distribution Operations, Maintenance
and Construction prior to his current role. Butler received
his B.S. in electrical and electronic engineering from
California State University, Chico.
Hayes currently serves as senior director of customer
field services. In his new position he will be responsible
for distribution maintenance and construction for the
southern portion of PG&E’s service area. Hayes
has been with PG&E for more than 30 years in a variety
of positions at numerous locations. He has a B.S. in
business administration from San Jose State University.
Hayes will report to the senior vice president, energy
delivery.
Johnson currently serves as senior director of electric
operations and engineering. In his new position he will
have the primary responsibility for directing the electric
transmission and distribution operations and engineering
function throughout the service area and the utility’s
overall electric delivery strategy. He joined Pacific
Gas and Electric Company last year from E.ON U.S. in
Louisville, Kentucky. Johnson received a B.S. in civil
engineering technology from Murray State University.
He reports to Ed Salas, senior vice president for engineering
and operations.
All appointments except Williams, Butler and Hayes
are effective November 1, 2007. Their roles will begin
on December 1, 2007.
