Utility Ranked High in Six Categories to Earn Its Score
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) placed No. 2 among all utilities and
in the Top-100 (No. 79) of America’s Best Employers according to a
survey in Forbes Magazine. The survey appears in the April 13
edition of the magazine and is currently available on their website.
“We’re happy that the Forbes Magazine survey highlights many of
the reasons employees are proud to work at PG&E. The people who work
here—and the way we collaborate to get work done—is what fuels our
progress towards building a better California,” said PG&E’s Senior Vice
President of Human Resources John Simon.
The study, which was carried out independently by Statista.com, surveyed
1,100 employers in all industries who employ more than 2,500 people in
the United States. More than 20,000 employees participated anonymously
online in this first-ever survey. Those surveyed evaluated their
employer on the basis of more than 30 criteria. Participants were asked
to rank their employer by a numerical scale on subjects such as “How
likely is it that you would recommend your employer to a friend or
family member” and “Men and women have the same opportunities for
advancement.”
The criteria were placed into six categories to determine the final
score. The categories included work atmosphere/development potential,
image, working conditions, salary/wage, workplace and diversity.
