(San Francisco) –PG&E today announced
the election of John Simon as senior vice president
of human resources of PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG)
and its core business, Pacific Gas and Electric Company,
and Edward Salas as senior vice president of engineering
and operations at Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

to these key leadership positions, and will help reinforce
our organization to best serve customers, support employees
and provide value to our shareholders,” said
Peter A. Darbee, PG&E Corporation Chairman, CEO
and President.
Simon joins PG&E effective April 16. He will oversee
all aspects of human resources including benefits,
labor relations, recruiting and training for the corporation
and the utility which together employ more than 20,000
people. Simon previously served in several senior management
positions over the past seven years with TeleTech Holdings,
Inc., a business services company with 47,000 employees
in 17 countries. Simon received his bachelor’s
degree from Colorado College and has a law degree from
Georgetown University.
Effective April 11, Salas will have primary responsibility
for gas and electric planning, engineering and operations,
and transmission and distribution asset management.
He most recently served as vice president of network
strategy and planning for Verizon Wireless. Previously
he was vice president of network engineering and planning
for Vodafone AirTouch and vice president, German operations
and chief technical officer of Mannesmann Mobilfunk.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from California
State University at Los Angeles and has also completed
the Harvard Business School’s Executive Program.
